The Peace Marsh Story
Peace Marsh was founded in 2009 by Steven Peace, with Andrew McBean joining the business a year later. From the beginning, the idea was simple: help organisations make better decisions about energy.

That matters even more today. With unpredictable energy pricing and growing pressure on infrastructure, organisations need practical advice, not generic reports or single-technology recommendations.

Steven brings the technical side. With a background in building services, combustion engineering and renewable technology, he understands how buildings and systems behave in the real world. Andrew brings the commercial and customer side. His focus is on relationships, funding routes, incentives and making sure every recommendation has a clear business case behind it.

Their friendship and partnership have shaped the business from the start: practical advice, independent thinking and energy projects that make sense commercially as well as technically for your organisation.

Common Questions
Answers to the questions businesses often ask before starting an energy assessment or exploring site improvements.
What renewable energy options are available if we have already implemented the obvious energy-saving measures?
We research your business needs, site processes and resources, and using our knowledge and experience, we search the market for innovative and established renewables technologies that fit with your business and manufacturing processes. We then produce the business case and manage the installation on your behalf.
Can renewable energy projects still work if our capex budget has been reduced?
There are many options for funding renewable and energy saving projects through CAPEX and OPEX expenditure where in most cases savings exceed the contract payments from year 1. We can also arrange for fully funded technology installations with no cost to you. Occasionally, there could also be local, or central government grants subsidies or incentives schemes available, which we would also identify. Most projects would typically have a payback of between 1.5 – 6 years
How do you work out whether solar, wind, heat recovery, batteries or another technology is right for our site?
We complete a thorough site assessment which includes understanding your business and priorities and liaise with suppliers to complete business case which provide detail on which technologies suit your business the best.
What happens if our buildings are leased and we need landlord approval?
Leases have to be considered and often Landlords are supportive of renewable installations as this increase the value of their asset.
How do we know if our roof can take the weight of solar panels?
If there is any doubt a full structural survey can be completed and either a lightweight flexible solar system, or an alternative ground mounted, or car park canopy array considered.
